3

Enter the fare per passenger and the number of passengers.

Good to know

For confirmed and RAC tickets the charge is a flat amount by class if you cancel more than 48 hours before departure. Between 48 and 12 hours it is 25% of the fare (or the flat amount, if more), and between 12 and 4 hours it is 50%. After that there is no refund. Waitlisted tickets lose a small clerkage charge.
This is an estimate. GST on AC-class cancellations, special fares and some premium trains can change the final amount, so check the figure on IRCTC before you cancel.

Frequently asked questions

What if the railways cancel the train?

What happens to a waitlisted ticket?

If it stays waitlisted after the chart is prepared it is cancelled automatically and the fare is refunded after a small clerkage charge.

What is a TDR?

A Ticket Deposit Receipt is a refund request you file online when you could not travel and the normal cancellation window has passed, for example after the chart is prepared.
