This policy explains what information RailsTools collects and how it is used. By using the site you agree to it.
Live tools
The live train status, PNR status, station board and train info tools send what you type (a train number, a station or a PNR) to our server, which passes it to a third-party railway data provider only to fetch the answer. We do not store or log PNRs and they are never cached. Train and station answers may be cached briefly to keep the service fast. Our server limits requests per visitor, using a short-lived technical counter.
The calculators
The calculators and finders run in your browser. What you type into them, such as a berth number or a fare, is not sent to our server and is not stored.
Log data and cookies
Like most websites, our server records standard log data such as IP address, browser type and the pages visited, to keep the site secure and working. We may use cookies to remember preferences and to measure traffic.
Advertising
We may show ads served by Google AdSense or other partners. These partners use cookies to show ads based on your visits to this and other sites. You can manage personalised advertising in your Google Ads settings or at aboutads.info.
Fonts and maps
Pages load fonts from Google Fonts. The Map links in the station finder open OpenStreetMap, which has its own privacy policy.
Contact form
If you write to us, we use your name and email only to reply, and we do not share them.
Children
The site is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their data.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version is always on this page.
