    Good to know

Station codes are two to five letters and are unique. Big cities often have more than one station with different codes, for example NDLS (New Delhi), DLI (Old Delhi) and NZM (Hazrat Nizamuddin) all serve Delhi.
The list comes from open railway data. Names may be spelled differently from the official list, so confirm the code on your ticket.

    Frequently asked questions

    What is a station code?

A short unique code, usually two to five letters, that the railways use to identify a station on tickets and timetables.

Why does a city have several stations?

Large cities grew over time and different stations serve different directions and train types, so each has its own code.

    Is the map location exact?

It is approximate. Use it to get a rough idea of where the station is, not for turn-by-turn navigation.
